Quarterly Executive Best Practices Series: K-12 School Enrollment Policy & Practice
Across the country, states are stepping up in various ways to welcome newly arrived refugees, asylum seekers, and the forcibly displaced. To support these efforts, Refugee Advocacy Lab in partnership with the IRC is launching a quarterly training series for executive staff in governor’s offices, agency leads, and staff within the growing number of state Offices of New Americans on best practices to ensure newcomers have access to state services and opportunities. To kick off the series, we hosted an instructional webinar that addressed K-12 enrollment policy and services for newly arrived students and their families, and what this looks like in practice.
