Strengthening Language Access: Policy Options for States, Counties, Municipalities

The Refugee Advocacy Lab and the International Rescue Committee are proud to launch “Language Access Policy: Precedent and Possibilities in U.S. States, Counties, and Cities.” This new brief offers advocates a comprehensive analysis of language access policies, including their successes and failures, and suggests strategy and policy best practices for implementing language access on the city, county, and state level.

Advocates are in a unique moment to work with elected leaders to pursue greater language accessibility for populations in need. The Lab and IRC hosted a webinar to delve further into the opportunity to pursue language access policies - The Refugee Advocacy Lab's Genevieve Kessler introduced. Annie Rose Healion presented on the brief. Sylvia Nyumuhungu offered commentary, followed by an audience Q&A.
